T60.4: Toxic effect: Rodenticides

You have been poisoned by a rodenticide.

There are different rodenticides. They differ in terms of their chemical components and the way they work. Depending on which substance caused the poisoning, there can be a variety of symptoms. The symptoms also depend on how the substance got into the body. The substance can be inhaled or swallowed, for example.

Some rodenticides disrupt blood clotting, for example. The normal purpose of clotting is to stop bleeds. If blood clotting is disrupted, bleeds can occur more easily. Bleeds may also persist longer or be heavier than usual. Some rodenticides cause other problems. There can be nausea, diarrhea, or abdominal pain, for example. You can also become confused or restless. The heart may also beat too quickly, too slowly, or irregularly, for example.
