T73.1: Effects of thirst

Your health was damaged because you took in too little liquid.

If you do not drink enough, the skin and the mucous membranes can become dry. A mucous membrane is a thin, moist skin. The mouth, for example, is lined with mucous membrane. Moreover, if you do not drink enough, your heart may beat faster and your blood pressure might be lower than usual. Also, less urine will be produced and you will get thirsty. In extreme cases, one can also die of thirst.
