T79.68: Traumatic ischaemia of muscle of other sites
An injury resulted in an inadequate blood supply to muscle tissue.
Muscle tissue is supplied with oxygen via the blood. If blood vessels or muscle tissue get injured, the muscle tissue may not get an adequate supply of blood. If the muscle tissue does not get enough oxygen, it can become damaged and die. The pressure in the tissue can also increase if there is bleeding in the tissue. The high pressure in the tissue can also damage the muscle tissue.
When muscle tissue has been damaged, the affected sites can be painful. It may also be that you are no longer able to move affected parts of your body properly. Damaged muscle tissue can also swell up or harden. There may be less feeling than usual at the affected sites.
