T88.3: Malignant hyperthermia due to anaesthesia
An anesthetic has caused you problems.
Anesthetics are medications used for operations, for example. The anesthetics prevent you from feeling pain. Some anesthetics also send you to sleep. You were given an anesthetic.
Your body has reacted to the anesthetic in a particular way. With a reaction of this type, your muscles typically tense up tightly. Your body temperature may then rise. As a result, your heart or other internal organs may no longer be working properly, for example.
