U69.52: Intra-abdominal lymph nodes

You have metastases in the lymph nodes in your abdominal cavity.

The tissue in the body is made up of cells. With cancer, the cells multiply uncontrollably, which leads to a malignant neoplasm (abnormal growth of tissue) developing. The cancer cells can destroy the healthy tissue and spread throughout the body.

Cancer cells have spread through your body. The cancer cells have accumulated in your lymph nodes. These are called lymph node metastases.

The lymph nodes are small bean-shaped objects. They are found throughout the body. Lymph nodes filter the tissue fluid. They are part of the defense system.
