Z96.67: Presence of an intervertebral disc prosthesis
You have one or several artificial intervertebral discs. It is also possible that only one part of an intervertebral disc was replaced by artificial material.
Intervertebral discs consist of cartilage and connective tissue. Intervertebral discs connect neighboring vertebrae to one another and absorb pressure and shocks.
If an intervertebral disc is severely worn or injured, you will often have pain or may have trouble moving. In that case, the intervertebral disc can be replaced by artificial material.
