Neurological assessments: Examination of cerebrospinal fluid system: Cerebrospinal fluid collection from catheter in situ
Your cerebrospinal fluid was tested.
Cerebrospinal fluid is a clear fluid that is formed in the brain. There are cavities with cerebrospinal fluid in the brain, around the brain and around the spinal cord. Among other things, the cerebrospinal fluid cushions the brain and spinal cord during knocks and also nourishes the brain cells.
In the past, a tube was inserted into your body via the head or the spinal column. The tube was inserted into one of the cavities that contain the cerebrospinal fluid. A little of your cerebrospinal fluid has now been extracted through this tube.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
