Neurological assessments: Recording evoked potential: Vestibular evoked myogenic potential [VEMP]
The organ of your balance has been tested.
As well as the organ of hearing, both inner ears contain the organ of balance.
When someone hears a loud noise, the organ of balance is also stimulated. The organ of balance then sends information to the neck muscles, for instance. So certain changes can be measured via the neck muscles.
This type of test enables an assessment of how well the organ of balance is working.
