Your balance was tested with a view to clarifying your dizziness.
Dizziness is characterized by uncertain balance. The organs of balance are located in each ear. Sensory cells in the balance organs perceive when one moves one’s head. As a result, we can sense whether we are moving up, down or sideways. This is important for one’s balance and for one’s spatial orientation.
Your balance was examined while you stood on a special plate. Using sensors, this type of plate can measure shifts in body weight. The plate can also measure the distribution of body weight between the two feet. The balance and stability of the body can then be assessed. Body weight can be tested with the eyes open or closed, for example.
