ENT examinations: Rhinomanometry

You have been tested to see how well you are getting air through your nose.

The examination involves testing each of the two nostrils. To do this, the other nostril is blocked. With their mouth closed the person, in a mask, then breathes in and out through the other nostril. A measurement is taken of how well the air is flowing through that nostril.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides
