Diagnostic cardiac catheterization: Other diagnostic cardiac catheterization: Measurement of hepatic venous pressure gradient
The pressure in a blood vessel in your liver was measured.
You had a catheter examination. A catheter is a thin tube. This tube is inserted into a blood vessel in the groin or arm, and pushed further in. Various instruments can be pushed at the front of the tube.
The tube was pushed as far as your liver. Pressure measurements were taken there. In this way, an assessment can be made of how well the blood is able to flow through the liver.
