1-406.5:
Biopsy without incision on nervous system and endocrine organs: Percutaneous (needle) biopsy of endocrine organs: Adrenal gland
Tissue samples have been taken from your adrenal gland.
The adrenal glands are at the top of the kidneys. The adrenal gland produces various messenger substances, including the hormone adrenalin. Adrenalin has a wide variety of effects. For example, adrenalin causes the heart to beat faster and increases the blood pressure.
These kinds of samples are taken using a needle, for example. To do this, the needle is inserted through the skin in the flank area. Then the needle is advanced to the point from which tissue samples are to be taken.
