Biopsy without incision on respiratory organs: Endoscopic biopsy on respiratory organs: Trachea: Forceps biopsy

Tissue samples have been taken from your trachea.

When we breathe, the air gets into the body via the respiratory tract. The respiratory tract can be divided into the upper and the lower respiratory tracts. The nose and throat form part of the upper respiratory tract. The lower respiratory tract begins at the larynx. This includes the trachea and the bronchia.

To take the tissue samples, a tube was inserted into your trachea. Images from the examined area can be transmitted to the outside via the tube. It can then be seen whether the tissue is healthy or changed.

A forceps was then pushed through the tube in order to take the tissue samples from you. The tissue samples are then sent to a laboratory where they are examined more closely under a microscope.

Additional indicator
