Tissue samples have been taken from your bladder.

The bladder sits low down in the abdomen and collects the urine. The urine is produced in the two kidneys. The urine flows from the kidneys into the bladder via the ureters. When you pass water, the urine flows from the bladder via the urethra and out.

A thin tube was inserted into you via your urethra. A camera is attached to the end of the tube. This camera then sends images to a screen during the examination. It can then be seen whether the tissue is healthy or changed. Small tools, for example forceps, can be used during the examination. The tools are pushed forwards through the tube. Tissue samples can be taken in this way. These tissue samples can then be examined more closely under the microscope.
