1-493.c:

Biopsy without incision on other organs and tissue: Percutaneous (needle) biopsy of other organs and tissue: Urocele

Tissue samples have been taken from you in an area where urine has collected.

Urine is normally only found in the urinary organs. The urinary organs include organs that form urine or excrete it from the body. Urine flows from both kidneys into the bladder via the ureters. The urethra channels the urine outward from the bladder.

If a urinary organ is damaged, urine can leak out and collect in the body outside the urinary organs.

The tissue samples were taken using a hollow needle. This needle was inserted through your skin in the area where urine has collected.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides

Note

Your doctor will assist you with any health-related questions and explain the OPS code to you in a direct consultation if necessary.
