1-494.8:
Biopsy without incision on other organs and tissue: Imaging-guided (percutaneous) biopsy of other organs and tissue: Retroperitoneal tissue
Tissue samples have been taken from the area behind your abdominal cavity.
Between the abdominal cavity and back, there is a space inside the body that contains a lot of connective tissue and fat. The kidneys, pancreas, part of the large intestine and aorta for instance are located in this space.
The tissue samples were taken using a hollow needle. This needle was inserted through your skin in the area behind your abdominal cavity. At the same time, pictures were taken of the inside of your body. That way it is possible to see exactly where the needle is.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
