Biopsy without incision on other organs and tissue: Imaging-guided (percutaneous) biopsy of other organs and tissue: Lymphocele
Tissue samples have been taken from you in an area where lymph has collected.
Fluid forms in tissue throughout the body every day. This tissue fluid is the lymph. The lymph is carried around the body by lymph vessels. The lymph vessels run around the entire body and are connected to blood vessels. At some points, there are lymph nodes along the lymph vessels. Pathogens are rendered harmless in the lymph nodes, for example.
If a lymph vessel is injured or damaged, the lymph may leak and collect.
The tissue samples were taken using a hollow needle. This needle was inserted through your skin in the area where lymph has collected. At the same time, pictures were taken of the inside of your body. That way it is possible to see exactly where the needle is.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
