1-497.3:
Biopsy without incision on other organs and tissue: Transvenous or transarterial biopsy: Liver
Tissue samples have been taken from your liver.
The liver is an important organ on the top right of the abdomen. For example, it helps with blood clotting and detoxifying the body. Nutrients from food are processed in the liver.
During the examination, a thin tube was inserted into one of your blood vessels. The tube was then pushed as far as your liver.
Small tools, for example forceps, can be used during the examination. The tools are pushed forwards through the tube. Tissue samples can be taken in this way. These tissue samples can then be examined more closely under the microscope. At the same time, an X-ray machine took images of the inside of your heart. In this way it is possible to see exactly where the tip of the tube is.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
