You have had tissue samples taken from you.
During the examination, a thin tube was inserted into one of your blood vessels. The tube was then pushed as far as the relevant location.
Small tools, for example forceps, can be used during the examination. The tools are pushed forwards through the tube. Tissue samples can be taken in this way. These tissue samples can then be examined more closely under the microscope. At the same time, an X-ray machine took images of the inside of your heart. In this way it is possible to see exactly where the tip of the tube is.
