A tissue sample was taken from a joint in your shoulder girdle during an operation.
The shoulder girdle has several joints: The actual shoulder joint connects the humerus (upper arm bone) to the shoulder blade. A second joint connects the shoulder blade to the collarbone. The collarbone is also connected to the sternum by another joint.
