Am Ellenbogen treffen 3 Knochen aufeinander. Dies sind der Oberarm-Knochen sowie die beiden Knochen im Unterarm. Diese heißen Elle und Speiche. Es gibt am Ellenbogen mehrere Gelenke zwischen diesen 3 Knochen. Dadurch kann man zum einen den Arm beugen und strecken. Zum anderen kann man den Unterarm verdrehen, zum Beispiel beim Eindrehen einer Schraube.
