1-510.3:

Biopsy of nerve tissue, hypophysis, pineal gland by incision and craniotomy: Intracranial biopsy by incision and craniotomy: Cerebellum

Tissue samples have been taken from your cerebellum.

The cerebellum is part of the brain. The cerebellum is important for movement and balance. The cerebellum stores movement processes, for example, how one eats with cutlery or rides a bike.

The brain is surrounded by a protective shell of bone, known as the skull or cranium. To take tissue samples from the cerebellum, the cranial bone usually has to be cut into. To do this, small holes can be drilled or the bone sawn into. Afterwards, a piece of bone is removed from the skull.
