Tissue samples have been taken from blood vessels inside your skull.
The brain is surrounded by a protective shell of bone, known as the skull or cranium. To take tissue samples from the blood vessels, the cranial bone usually has to be cut into. To do this, small holes can be drilled or the bone sawn into. Afterwards, a piece of bone is removed from the skull.
