1-511.5:

Biopsy of nerve tissue, hypophysis, pineal gland by incision and craniotomy: Stereotactic brain biopsy: Intracranial blood vessels

Very targeted tissue samples have been taken from blood vessels inside your skull.

The brain is surrounded by a protective shell of bone, known as the skull or cranium. To take the tissue samples from your blood vessels, tools were inserted very precisely into the inside of your skull. Three-dimensional images of your head were produced for this purpose before the operation. A computer was then used to calculate exactly where the tissue samples were to be taken.
