Diagnostic tracheobronchoscopy: Diagnostic tracheobronchoscopy: Rigid: Other

Your airways were examined from the inside.

When we breathe, the air gets into the body via the respiratory tract. The respiratory tract can be divided into the upper and the lower respiratory tracts. The nose and throat form part of the respiratory tract. The lower respiratory tract begins at the larynx in the throat. It includes the windpipe and the bronchia.

The test involved inserting a metal tube into your airways. This is normally done via the mouth. Images of the airways are sent out via the metal tube. In this way, the inside of the airways can be studied and assessed for any changes.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
