The large intestine (colon) is where water and salt are withdrawn from the stool. The last segment of the large intestine (colon) is the rectum. Stool then leaves the body through the anus. Your have a stoma in your stomach or intestine.

For the examination, a tube was inserted through this stoma. A camera is attached to the end of the tube. This camera then sends images to a screen during the examination. It can then be seen whether the tissue is healthy or changed.
