Diagnostic endoscopy of female genital organs: Diagnostic hysterosalpingoscopy
You have had an examination of your uterus and fallopian tubes.
You have had an internal examination of your uterus and fallopian tubes. The uterus or womb sits in the pelvis and is pear-shaped. The narrower part extends downward into the vagina and is called the cervix. When a woman is pregnant, the child grows in her uterus. The two fallopian tubes go to the right and left of the ovaries towards the womb. They are like tubes and they transport the egg cells from the ovaries to the uterus. To carry out the examination, a thin tube is inserted through the vagina and the mouth of the womb to the uterus itself. A camera is attached to the end of the tube. This camera sends images to a screen. It can then be seen whether the tissue is healthy or changed.
