Metabolic function tests: Substance loading test to detect metabolic disorder

A load test was carried out to see whether you have a metabolic disorder.

Various energy-acquisition processes occur in the body. The body acquires energy, for example, by breaking down nutrient elements or the body's own substances. Broken down nutrient elements are also used as building materials in the body. In this way, individual cells and tissue can be built or repaired. All of these processes together are known as metabolism.

The metabolism can be subjected to loading in order to test it. To do this, a substance is administered or nothing can be eaten for some time. How the metabolism reacts to the substance or the hunger is then examined. Blood is taken for this purpose. Checking is also done to see whether any problems occur during the examination.
