Diagnostic puncture and aspiration: Diagnostic puncture of pericardium
Fluid has been taken with a needle from your pericardium.
The pericardium is a layer of connective tissue surrounding the heart. There is some fluid in the pericardium (heart sac). So the heart is able to move inside this lining.
The fluid from the pericardium can then be examined in the laboratory.
