Complex ultrasound for differential diagnosis with digital image and video documentation: Complex contrast-enhanced ultrasound for differential diagnosis
You had an ultrasound scan. This involved using a contrast agent.
An ultrasound examination involves sending ultrasound waves from an ultrasound probe in the body. Depending on the structure of the tissue, different numbers of ultrasound waves are reflected. These waves are then converted to images that can be viewed on a screen.
To do the ultrasound scan, a contrast agent was injected into a blood vessel. The contrast agent consists of a lot of tiny bubbles that get carried along with the bloodstream. The small bubbles stand out from the blood and other tissue in the ultrasound scan. This shows how organs are being supplied with blood.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
