Optical laser scanning techniques: Optical coherence tomography (OCT): Peripheral vessels

You have had an OCT scan on your blood vessels.

This examination involves sending light at a tissue. The tissue layers reflect the light in different ways. The reflected light is measured. A computer derives an image from the values measured. This enables an assessment of how the tissue is structured.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides
