Scintigraphy: Scintigraphy of musculoskeletal system: Single-phase scintigraphy
You have had a gamma scan of your bones.
The gamma scan first involved injecting special materials into one of your blood vessels.
The materials then spread through your body via your blood. They give off weak radiation for a certain time. A special camera then measured this radiation for several hours. This showed how the special materials accumulated in your bones.
A gamma scan enables changes in the bone structure to be assessed, for example. It can show various changes in the bone.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

- R: Right
- B: Both sides
