In order to operate on the inside of your skull, we have cut through your cranial bones.

The skull surrounds the brain. It consists of a number of individual bones that are tightly attached to each other.

This type of operation often involves removing a piece of the cranial bone. This piece can be replaced at the end of the operation. Sometimes, though, it is not replaced at all or only replaced later.
