5-212.4:
Operations on the nose: Excision and destruction of diseased nasal tissue: Excision from the inner nose with midfacial degloving
Diseased tissue has been removed from inside your nose.
We need the nose for breathing and smelling. The outside of the nose is composed of bone and cartilage. The nasal septum divides the nasal cavity into two halves. The inside of the nose is lined with a moist mucous membrane. The nasal concha are bony protrusions in the nose, and also lined with mucous membrane.
To remove the diseased tissue you were operated on via your mouth. An incision was made through the mucous membrane above your teeth. In this way access could be gained, beneath the skin on the upper jaw bone, to the inside of your nose.
