You have had another operation on your bronchi.

Air is breathed in via the mouth or nose. From there the air goes to the windpipe via the larynx. At the end of the windpipe are two bronchial tubes (or bronchi) branching away from it. The bronchial tubes run into the lungs. What is more, the bronchial tubes divide into even smaller branches. The larynx, windpipe, bronchia and lungs are part of the lower airways.

Previous surgery involved removing some of your lung tissue. This involved sewing up one bronchus. The stitching has begun to leak in one place. This is why you had another operation. This new operation covered the leak in your bronchus using a special tissue from your abdominal cavity.

The special tissue in your abdominal cavity is located between the intestine and the abdominal wall. It consists mainly of fatty tissue and connective tissue. It also contains very many defense cells.
