5-333.1:
Other operations on lungs and bronchus: Adhesiolysis in lungs and chest: Pleurolysis, thoracoscopic
Adhesions in the area around your lungs have been separated.
The lungs are surrounded by a smooth membrane. A smooth membrane like this is also located inside the ribs. Both membranes cling to each other via a small amount of fluid.
Some of the smooth membrane around your lungs had grown to adhere with the smooth membrane in the ribs. These adhesions have been detached in the course of a thoracoscopy.
A bronchoscopy first involves making a small incision in the skin. A tube with a camera is pushed through this incision. This camera sends pictures of the inside of the body to a screen. Instruments such as forceps and scissors can be inserted through other small incisions in the chest.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
