Other operations on lungs and bronchus: Reconstruction in lungs and bronchi: Suture in lungs (after injury), thoracoscopic
You have had an operation after your lungs suffered damage.
The lungs are on the left and right side of the ribcage. They are also connected to the nose and mouth via the bronchial tubes and windpipe (trachea).
The damage to your lungs was closed by stitching. To do this, you were given a thoracoscopy.
A bronchoscopy first involves making a small incision in the skin. A tube with a camera is pushed through this incision. This camera sends pictures of the inside of the body to a screen. Instruments such as forceps and scissors can be inserted through other small incisions in the chest.

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
