You have had an operation on your lungs. You have had a pathological fistula closed.

The lungs are on the left and right side of the ribcage. They are also connected to the nose and mouth via the bronchial tubes and windpipe (trachea).

You had a pathological fistula between your lungs and neighboring organs or the surface of your body. An operation closed this fistula. The operation involved opening your chest via an incision.
