Other operations on lungs and bronchus: Reconstruction in lungs and bronchi: Closure of a pulmonary parenchymal fistula, thoracoscopic

You have had an operation on your lungs. You have had a pathological fistula closed.

The lungs are on the left and right side of the ribcage. They are also connected to the nose and mouth via the bronchial tubes and windpipe (trachea).

You had a pathological fistula between your lungs and neighboring organs or the surface of your body. This fistula has been closed in the course of a thoracoscopy. To do this, you were given a thoracoscopy.

A bronchoscopy first involves making a small incision in the skin. A tube with a camera is pushed through this incision. This camera sends pictures of the inside of the body to a screen. Instruments such as forceps and scissors can be inserted through other small incisions in the chest.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides
