OPS-Code 5-335.31:
Other operations on lungs and bronchus: Lung transplantation: Re-transplant during the same hospitalization: Partial (pulmonary lobe)
You have been given a pulmonary lobe from another person.
The lungs consist of a right-hand and a left-hand lung. These lungs, in turn, consist of various pulmonary lobes. There are 3 pulmonary lobes in the right-hand lung. There are 2 pulmonary lobes in the left-hand lung.
The operation first involved opening up your chest. A pulmonary lobe was then removed. The donor pulmonary lobe was then inserted. The pulmonary lobe is usually then re-attached to the bronchi and the various blood vessels. The bronchi end in the trachea and in the lungs they branch like the crown of a tree. The air breathed in and out of the lungs passes through the bronchi.
You have already undergone such an operation before and are now having it repeated. This may be necessary if a donor pulmonary lobe fails to work properly, for example.
Additional indicator
