Other operations on lungs and bronchus: Other operations on lungs and bronchi: Destruction of diseased pulmonary tissue: By irreversible electroporation, percutaneous
You have had diseased pulmonary tissue destroyed.
The lungs are on the left and right side of the ribcage. They are also connected to the nose and mouth via the bronchial tubes and windpipe (trachea).
To destroy the diseased pulmonary tissue, a long needle was introduced through the skin into your lungs. Meanwhile, images were taken of the inside of your body. This ensured that the end of the needle was in the right place. The diseased pulmonary tissue was destroyed by electricity via the needle.
