You have had an operation on your ribcage. The aim of the surgery is to restore the original shape of your ribcage.

Part of your ribcage got broken. This can happen after an injury, for example, or after previous surgery. So the operation covered your ribcage with a special tissue from your abdominal space. The special tissue in your abdominal cavity is located between the abdominal wall and the intestine. It consists mainly of fatty tissue and connective tissue. It also contains very many defense cells.
