Operations on cardiac valves and septa and vessels near the heart: Operations for congenital vascular anomalies: Unspecified
You have had an operation on blood vessels in your chest.
The chest is where the heart and lungs are located. The heart pumps blood through blood vessels to the lungs. There the blood is enriched with oxygen and carried back to the heart again via other blood vessels. The heart then pumps the oxygen-rich blood to the body. Before you were born, one or more blood vessels in your chest developed in an unusual way.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
