Operations on the coronary vessels: Other operations on the coronary vessels: Sympathectomy of the coronary arteries
Certain nerves in your coronary arteries have been severed.
The heart is supplied with oxygen-rich blood via the coronary arteries. The coronary arteries are blood vessels that run around the outside of the heart.
There are nerves in the walls of the coronary arteries. These nerves determine, for example, whether a blood vessel expands or contracts. You have had these nerves in your coronary arteries surgically severed.
