You have had a device for assisting the heart muscle implanted or removed.
The heart pumps blood through the body. In the process, the blood flows through blood vessels. The blood supplies all areas of the body with oxygen and nutrients.
There are devices that electrically stimulate the heart muscle to beat. The aim is to get the heart muscle to contract more powerfully so that the blood is pumped around the body better.
