Rhythm surgery and other operations on heart and pericardium: Other operations on heart and pericardium: Implantation, replacement or inspection of a myocardium-modulating system [CCM]: Implantation or replacement of a system with atrial electrode

You have had a device for assisting the heart muscle implanted or replaced.

The heart pumps blood through the body. Inside the heart are 4 chambers. There are 2 heart atria and 2 ventricles. Both heart atria and both ventricles are separated from each other by a partition.

There are devices that electrically stimulate the heart muscle to beat. The aim is to get the heart muscle to contract more powerfully so that the blood is pumped around the body better. For this purpose, the device has various cables. In your case, these cables are positioned in the heart’s atria, for example.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides
