5-37a.1:

Rhythm surgery and other operations on heart and pericardium: Minimally invasive reconstruction of pericardium and heart: Plastic reconstruction of myocardium with myocardial anchoring system, hybrid intervention

You have received heart treatment so that it will work better.

The heart is composed of a thick muscle layer and a thin membrane in the heart interior. An external sac, the pericardium, surrounds the heart. This sac consists of a tight membrane.

Scarring has changed your heart muscle in such a way that your heart is no longer able to work properly. The treatment altered your heart muscle so that it is able to work better again.

The treatment involved making some incisions in your chest so that various devices and a special camera could be inserted. These enable the heart to be viewed on a screen while being treated. Synthetic material, for instance, is usually pushed to the heart via a blood vessel in the neck. The synthetic material is then anchored in the heart.
