Some tubes have been inserted into one of your blood vessels for lung replacement treatment.
A device for lung replacement treatment can assist or replace the function of the lungs. In a device like this the blood is enriched with oxygen and freed of carbon dioxide outside the body. To achieve this, the blood flows continuously through a tube to the device and through another tube back to the body again.
You have had an operation to insert the tubes. The relevant blood vessel has also been stabilized using a stent.
