You have had one or more arteries below the hollow of your knee opened up by an incision.
Arteries are blood vessels that transport blood away from the heart. They supply all the tissue in the body with oxygen-rich blood.
When a blood vessel is surgically opened, deposits or blood clots can be removed from the inside of the blood vessel.
