Incision, excision and closure of blood vessels: Resection of blood vessels with reanastomozation: Hepatic artery

A piece has been removed from your liver artery.

Arteries are blood vessels that transport blood away from the heart. They supply all the tissue in the body with oxygen-rich blood.

The liver is an important organ on the top right of the abdomen. For example, it helps with blood clotting and detoxifying the body. Nutrients from food are processed in the liver.

Sections of blood vessels may be removed, for example, if the blood vessel is enlarged there. The remaining ends are then usually sewn together again.

Additional indicator
